C O A C H
I am a Mama, Mom, Gigi, Auntie, and ma’am (sometimes sir ?). I am also a Planner, Organizer, and helper…to name a few. The title of “Coach” is something I would not have included in that list of roles but here I am…I am a proud coach to our students putting on wristbands like this at every tournament.
By definition, it is someone who teaches and trains. To me, it goes beyond the love of teaching. Being an exceptional coach is a responsibility. It is the trust that I will help our students in a way that is constructive and supportive…inside and outside of the mat. It’s that I will teach them important things along the way…constantly find opportunities of bravery and live each moment to the absolute fullest. It’s that I will lift them up when they need a boost, I will catch them when they feel defeated, and hug them through the most turbulent emotional rides. It’s that I will be there through thick and thin…medal or no medal…always in their corner…even from the bleachers.
Being a coach is a privilege that I do not take lightly and I am truly honored to be one.
